📚 Week #35 of 52 of reading in 2024. 

“Restoring Sanity” by Margaret J. Wheatley 

I found this book by searching for a quote that I found in Jeff Wetzler’s book and took it with me on a trip. It reminded me of an essential aspect of leadership: you need to be able to have faith in those around you to be generous, creative & kind — and leaders are to create the conditions for others to be able to/want to be. 

⭐️ Every moment when a person or group discovers their potential & contributes generosity, creativity & kindness, this is a joyful moment. 

‼️ It is still possible to create the conditions for people to engage together for work they care about. 

🤯 The concept of sane leadership: the unshakeable confidence that people can be generous, creative & kind. 

❤️ Humans can be quite wonderful. 

🤔 Every crisis is an opportunity to learn in ways that make us smarter & strengthen relationships. 

‼️ Strong emotions are to be channeled, not feared. 

❓ Taking time to be curious always diminishes our judgments.

“Think Ahead” by Craig Groeschel 

This book reminded me how important it is to go beyond intentions to building structures for a successful life. 

🤔 Magnify the cost… what could go wrong? 

‼️ You cannot do what you do not define. 

✔️ The decisions you make today are votes for who you will be tomorrow.

“As Good As Dead” by Holly Jackson 

Four out of five of us in my house have read/are reading this series. The third was my favorite. That’s all I will say. 

And Happy Birthday to my sister, just because 🎉. She & I share a love of books & reading, so it fits.
