This week I was doing one of my mom shuttling evenings & one of my teens started asking questions. In our house, even when it is hard, we welcome the questions. I shared with my kiddo the theme of an upcoming conference- “The future belongs to the curious.”
“I love that, mom” - yep, kiddo, me too.
I really do believe being genuinely curious is a superpower … and is essential to well-done leadership. (It’s also hard when we are under stress or in a hurry.)
❓What if we paused more to be curious about the things we might wrong about?
❓What if instead of assuming things (which is a human tendency), we taught ourselves to move to curiosity?
❓What if we let go what we think about people and went to curiosity instead?
I am reading Monica Guzman’s book & the quote below resonated with me. Whether we are opening our brains and perspectives or we are inspired into a learning frenzy, genuine curiosity can change lives, change organizations & it really is the way of the future.
