So, one of the key strategies for almost anything on focus and time is to start with your calendar (and often a "to do" list too).
I wish I could say that I am perfectly present all the time. I'm not. I have to practice it every single day, in every single setting, and often I can get distracted because I am mid-thinking or email or someone has shifted my energy.
One habit that can help us as leaders is to take the time and consider what might get in the way of being in the room (virtually or physically) and present with the person or people you need to be with.
