2023 Reading Review
I decided to track my reading in 2023. I haven’t tracked it since I set a goal of one professional book a month back when most of what I read was fiction. I set a goal of 52 books (including those I listen to). I am ending the year at 112 read:
- Fiction: 40
- Non-Fiction: 72
- Listened to: 18 (mostly non fiction, minus the three I listened to with my husband on long car rides)
Books recommended by:
- My kiddos
Figuring out my top 10 was hard … and each one is a book (or series) I’ve recommended, quoted frequently, and/or bought to give others.
1. Right Kind of Wrong by Amy Edmondson
2. Hidden Potential by Adam Grant
3. The Inheritance Game series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
4. Jerks at Work by Tessa West
5. Untangled/Emotional Lives of Teenagers by Lisa Damour, PhD
6. Rhythms of Renewal by Rebekah Lyons
7. Commencement by Kate Colbert and Joe Sallustio, EdD and Elvin Freytes
8. Life Worth Living by Miroslav Volf
9. Compassionate Leadership by Rasmus Hougaard, Jacqueline Carter & Marissa Afton
10. Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Gamus
Things I’ve learned … tracking was less about the goal and more about remembering; I like that I read a lot of different books; I will probably always be the person with a book to quote or recommend — and I like it that way.
